The Prep Verdict

Affiliate Disclosure

Last reviewed: October 2026

The Prep Verdict is reader-supported. When you click a link on this site and buy something from that retailer or brand, I may earn a commission, at no additional cost to you. This is how the site is funded; it does not change the price you pay.

Where these relationships come from

I’m a registered affiliate through the AvantLink network, and I work directly with individual brand affiliate programs beyond that network. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon links on this site point straight to Amazon and are marked as paid links. Every merchant I link to is a program I’ve applied to and been accepted into. I don’t run display ads or accept unpaid “sponsored” placements dressed up as recommendations.

Commission never determines a recommendation

Products are chosen and ranked using the approach described on my How We Test page: published specs, manufacturer and independent data, and my training as a medic and certified first aid instructor, before any commission question enters the picture. Where a product I’d already recommend on its merits also happens to pay a commission, I disclose that plainly, both here and directly next to the recommendation itself, not buried in a footer or hidden behind a generic “affiliate link” tag with no context.

How to tell which links are affiliate links

Affiliate links on this site are routed through a link-cloaking system (so a link may show as theprepverdict.com/recommends/product-name rather than the merchant’s own URL) and carry a “sponsored, nofollow” attribute per search-engine and FTC guidance. If you’re ever unsure whether a specific link is an affiliate link, assume it is, or ask me directly. See Questions below.

What I don’t do

  • I don’t accept payment in exchange for a positive review or a specific ranking position.
  • I don’t recommend a product I haven’t evaluated against my own criteria, regardless of commission rate.
  • I don’t use manufactured urgency (“only 3 left!”, inaccurate countdown timers).

Corrections

If a product changes, a program ends, or I get something wrong, the relevant article is updated and the change is noted on that page. See my How We Test page for the full corrections policy.

Questions

If anything about how I’m compensated is unclear, email me at admin@theprepverdict.com and I’ll answer directly.
